While I was working towards earning my undergrad degree, I had the opportunity to work with individuals who was living and suffering with HIV/AIDS. From my observations while in these internships, I can honestly say that these are good and normal individuals for the most part, and that they were also outcast in the eyes of some medical professionals. Moreover, I come to find that the lack of proper access to medications and treatment for Hiv/Aids patients is a serious problem in today’s society. Studies suggest “even though equal access to healthcare is available, this same access does not always guarantee equal treatment of HIV/AIDS clients” (Backman et al, 2008). Other data suggest that “there is also a lack of ethical practices in the protection of infected patient’s privacy” (Mann, 1998).

In this class project I will discuss practices of biased behavior towards, Hiv/Aids infected hetero and homosexuals on the part of our community’s, and healthcare industry.
