In very recent news we all read about the Egyptian revolt.  The ultimate demise was to overthrow a thirty year dictatorship, the people finally demanding more.   Regardless if the means that they took to get the results was necessary, correct or appropriate; they achieved the end result they set out for, they took back their country.

The Egypt revolt has quickly become a global case study.  Even as the events played out, protestors were acting out in Washington DC in protest to the dictatorship.  Every news channel watched as history unfolded, and the attempts to stop the people continually failed.  Poverty, corruption, and the overall disregard of the Egyptians came to a head, when President Hosni Mubarak finally resigned.

The concern is the mimicking or the potential copy cat affect that can transpire as a result of this success.  It was said the now North Koreans too must revolt against a 60-year-old dictatorship.  There is a very valid fear of a bloody retaliation and unsuccessful attempts of people whose government it structured stronger than that of Egypt’s.  Hope for a better country, life, democracy can lead other countries down the path of self-destruction.

This article is very strong, and very valid.  Within the first paragraph they pointed out that Egyptians overthrew a thirty year dictatorship, now North Korea needs to overthrow a sixty year one.  It clearly expresses the hope and intentions of other countries, and governments alike.

It did have an impact one me because you don’t always think about the “what after”.  There are very valid concerns of a repeat of the Egyptian people, with a very different end result.  Being aware that not all governments are set up the same, and there is definitely more powerful military regime in other countries.   It really made me think, and open my eyes to the potential trouble ahead.

This article is important to be read by any and all people.  Not just in the United States but worldwide.  Unfortunately I think we are just at the beginning of people standing up and fighting for what they believe in and deserve, and I think people need to see the potential danger of that.  It is an informative article on current events taking place around our world, and it is worth taking the ten minutes out of your day to read.
