Both quality management and quality improvement, particularly within the nursing industry, are always going to be a high priority. Still, with new illnesses popping up in medical facilities every day, and the current strains of viruses and bacteria mutating are at ever increasing rates, the last thing any institution needs is poor quality control standards. As such, methods have evolved over the years to help improve quality improvement processes to meet future trends and challenges.

Well, to start off at one, future trends, within the nursing field, tend to point in the direction of increased duties, responsibilities, and a larger general knowledge base. With so much going on, established methods to improve inefficient processes and practices are key to keeping the average nurse from being too overworked.

In the ever changing work place, the ability to survive and adapt quickly are often the only things that make such strenuous work possible. As movement progresses into the future, this will continue to be an imperative part of the nursing field. As such, when problems arise, established equations to fix said issues need to be in place so a standard system to solve theses inconvenient problems, for example, the FADE model, focus, analyze, execute, evaluate.

Challenges are pretty much going to consist of the same issues.  When something does come up management has to know that patient- care is not going to suffer in any way due to a non- standard problem arising. By having quality improvement models available, an general map of how to go about a problem is already in head, and the blanks just have to be filled in. This can be imperative when seconds count and sometimes there is no time to think, simply react with trained skills.
