During my health promotion in the middle school, I incorporated interactive strategies such as socializing and keen observation of the students during the physical exercise with special focus on their complaints during exercise and exposure to health hazards that directly affected their health. Most students looked medically fit in the whole exercise of physical fitness. Some students though sat at the edge of the school field and were not engaged in any active exercise. Others were engaged in mild exercises though were not under instruction like those in active exercise.

The sporting environment was cold and those who engaged in active sport like sprinting had light clothing and would sweat often. They seemed to have some bouts of cold owing to the weather and the manner of clothing. Those in mild sport like chess wore heavier clothing and also had coughs and running noses from the cold. The rest of them too wore heavy clothing and looked weak and pale from the cold. The playing field may have harbored some allergic elements like insects due to the uncut grass and dust.

During the exercise, regular complaints from a few students would require them to sit on the bench and relax before going back to the field. A student at the bench, a thirteen year old was allergic to the cold and dust and had uncontrollable coughs. The cold coughs seemed to affect everyone in the class and may have developed to high fever especially among those who were inactive in the bench who showed extreme symptoms of the cold. They had pale red faces and a running nose and completely passive and less cheerful. No one however showed pneumonic signs.

My experience in the field quite reflected the theory learnt about colds and coughs. One is its association with high fever and easily communicable from one person to another. The allergens too seemed to also cause other related throat and breathing problems that prompted the coughs. Some extreme cases were likely to advance to asthma in case they lack early treatment.
