The United States of American was always famous for the two main political parties that existed and still exist and dominate the government. They are: the Democratic Party, and the Republican Party.  Nonetheless, it the last years many other parties appeared and are gaining more and more interest of ordinary people who not that much preoccupied with political affairs but are more interested in the cultural and natural safety and prosperity of their state, and the country in general.   Our school’s party called CALPRIG is one of such parties, and is a great example of how youngsters can actually affect the situation in a particular geographical position.   I also experienced the feeling of being in that party, and did some volunteering work.  Therefore, I can state that I in some way, may be not in a very significant way, influenced the processes going on in our state.

In order to better understand what CALPRIG does, let me elaborate myself a little about this particular party.  CALPRIG is an organization that works precisely for the public interest.  When our environment is under threat and is harmed by the manufacturers, when the voices of ordinary people who try to stop this are silenced, this is the time when CALPRIG stands up and takes the situation in its hand in ordinary to stabilize the situation and bring the justice back.  During the past years, this party has achieved tremendous success in helping to improve the environmental condition in the state.  However, these days the progression is in peril.  A huge number of manufacturers that produce oil, timber, automobiles and other techniques, are pressuring the local administration to lessen the protection standards to minimum, in order for them to be able to conduct their hazardous production.  These people are working together with their Congress supporters interested in the monetary benefits rather then the health of the people living in the state, in order to break and demolish those few protectors of the environment that still exist and try to protect the water, air, and soil reserves clean and untouched.   CALPRIG works with the other nationwide parties and groups to stop this violence and roll back all the protection status back, so that the citizens of the state and counties would be able to live in a safe and unpolluted place.
