Following the purpose to reexamine the origin of Forum Romanum, the researcher grounds his investigation on revising the layers of lower parts of deep soundings, basing on the data of excavations of Boni and Gjerstad in the center of Forum. This innovative approach permitted the author put forward a new way to explicate the lower fraction of Gjerstad’s sector. To doubt the accepted view, Ammerman concludes that possibility of huts existence is insignificant due to unfavorable environmental condition. Since the process of transformation of landscape in cityscape is not entirely studied owing to the insufficiency of available evidence, the author underscores that adequate dating question resolution could be enabled with new excavations in the center of the Forum as well as close examination of the fillings layer.
