My Most and Least Favorite Actors – Essay Sample

My Most and Least Favorite Actors – Essay Sample

I believe that everyone has his/her own actor or actress, either American or European. My favorite actor is Mel Gibson, “a movie star and a controversial filmmaker” (Mel Gibson). He has an entirely different style from most of the other actors/actresses that I think highly of. He tends to be tougher beyond the limits. Moreover, his characters usually lack subtleties and at one level are quite uncomplicated to recognize. But he has performed in some of my much loved movies of modern times like Braveheart, Forever Young, and Ransom. As for my most favorite actress, I think that it is Audrey Hepburn. Audrey is very close to the ideal actress. She also was a great woman, spending much of her life doing wonderful things for others, “most notably through UNICEF” (Audrey Hepburn). On the screen she possesses what many have tried to grab hold of, but nobody else has matched. If I was to select one word to summarize her acting, it would probably be ‘style’. From the way she walked, to her clothing, to her manner of speech it all seemed natural yet powerfully mysterious. I have loved every single movie that I saw staring her: “Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Love in the Afternoon, and Roman Holiday” (Audrey Hepburn).

The actor that I do not like the most is almost certainly Ben Affleck. I do not think that he is a professional actor as of yet as far as his acting seems unnatural and immature. He really lacks seriousness and being more emotional would have really helped him in his acting. My most disliked actress is undoubtedly Whoopi Goldberg. In my personal opinion, she can hardly be called an actress at all, due to the fact that her acting skills are not sufficient enough to represent cinematography. Her roles are extremely easy to play and the only thing that saves the situation is that she can be hilarious sometimes.
